AMLC Confirms Mayor Alice Guo’s Assets Included in Freeze Order by CA
COURT OF APPEALS – The Anti-Money Laundering Council (AMLC) confirmed that the CA released a Freeze Order on the assets of Mayor Alice Guo.
Currently, suspended Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo is facing several issues — from her alleged involvement to the illegal operation of the Philippine offshore gaming in the country to her identity. She is accused to be the same person with Guo Hua Ping.
The National Bureau of Investigation, more popularly called NBI, confirmed that Mayor Alice Guo and Guo Hua Ping’s fingerprints matched. The inconsistencies on the documents and the statements of the suspended mayor sparks more and more questions.
Recently, a Senate hearing was set but Mayor Alice Guo skipped the Senate hearing. According to Attorney Stephen David, the suspended Bamban, Tarlac Mayor is “traumatized” by the way she was treated. The lawyer also said that the Mayor is drained from the many allegations against her.
The camp of Guo also asserted the move as self-incrimination which Senator Risa Hontiveros tagged as an overused alibi of those who want to skip the investigation. Furthermore, according to the Senator, self-incrimination is recognized by the Supreme Court if there is a question being raised.
Guo and her camp skipped the Senate hearing. Sen. Hontiveros cited in contempt suspended Tarlac Mayor Guo. Once approved by Senate President Chiz Escudero, an arrest order will be released against the Mayor. Previously, Senate Pres. Escudero expressed his readiness to sign the arrest warrant once it is requested by Sen. Hontiveros.
Recently, the Anti-Money Laundering Council (AMLC) confirmed that the Court of Appeals released a Freeze Order on the assets of the individuals and the companies involved in the illegal Philippine offshore gaming operations in the country.
