Pres. Marcos assured support in raising the salary of the government employees. He also has a bright vision for the teachers in the country in the pursuit of uplifting the quality of education for the students.

Several politicans from different cities and municipalities as well as members of the cabinet of the President were also present. However, Sen. Bong Go is one of those who were absent at the event.
Vice Pres. Sara Duterte was also absent at Marcos SONA 2024. Prior to the event, the Vice President already confirmed that she will not be attending it as she appointed herself as the “designated survivor”. It is a term used in the United States to describe a political belief that a person who can succeed in the presidency should not be in the same gathering with the president and other leaders of the nation.
As for Sen. Bong Go, he revealed on social media that he was not able to attend the SONA 2024 of Pres. Bongbong Marcos because he took a stress echo test. The lawmakers expressed his hope and prayer that the Marcos administration will prioritize the programs that will directly benefit and uplift the lives of the poor. In his post, he gave a special mention on the strengthening of the healthcare in the country and easing inflation.
