Veteran Actress Divina Valencia Seated with Eva Darren at FAMAS Event
Veteran actress Divina Valencia reacted to the reason of FAMAS on the viral issue with another Philippine icon, Eva Darren.
The post of Dr. Fernando de la Pena, the son of veteran actress Eva Darren, went viral on social media. He exposed the experience of the veteran actress who was invited to be a presenter at the event but was replaced by a young singer without her knowledge.
Eva Darren was invited to be a presenter but was never called at the event to go up stage with Mr. Tirso Cruz. Instead, a young singer was asked to replace the veteran actress who attended the event with three (3) of her grand children.
According to the son of the veteran actress, they paid Php 5,000 each for four plates at the prestigious event. His mother bought dress and a pair of heels and also got a hair and make-up package for the event. She also memorized the script that was sent to her by the film award-giving body.
The PR officer of FAMAS apologized to the veteran actress over what happened at the event. She said it is fine and decided to leave the event. The film award-giving body recently spoke and explained that they were not able to see Ms. Eva Darren at the venue so they instantly got someone to replace her as it was a live event.
Veteran actress Divina Valencia who was also at the event where she was awarded as Iconic Movie Actress of Philippine Cinema finds the reason of FAMAS unacceptable and “so narrow”. Based on a report on Pep, the veteran actress was seated beside fellow actress Eva Darren at the event.
Divina further stressed that she and Eva were seated together in Table 10 which is located almost in front of the stage. They were seated together with another veteran, Marissa Delgado. She also asserted that there were names assigned for specific seats.
“Isa ciya sa mga naunang dumating. Kasama ang kanyang 4 na apo umasang makikita ang kanilang GrandMa na papanik sa stage na kasama c Mr Tirso Cruz,” veteran actress Divina Valencia wrote.
Based on the article, the veteran actress also expressed her sentiment that many people who are not in the entertainment industry were receiving plaques at the event. She stressed that they spent a lot for their glittery attires at the event but they are not part of the show business.
“Ginagamit ang mga artista tapos pinahiya sinaktan ang isang Eva Darren na talagang isang icon.Tumanggap ng Famas na tutuong Famas,” Divina said.
