Chelsea Manalo Discloses She Almost Quit Miss Universe Philippines 2024 Pageant
CHELSEA MANALO – Beauty queen Chelsea Manalo revealed in an interview that she almost quit the Miss Universe Philippines 2024 pageant.
Chelsea Manalo revealed on “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda” that she nearly withdrew from the beauty pageant because of financial difficulties. In Monday’s episode, Chelsea had her first interview with Boy Abunda, the King of Talk.
During their discussion, the veteran host asked if it was true that she had considered quitting the competition earlier.
The newly-crowned Miss Universe Philippines 2024 replied, “I was on the verge of quitting na po dahil we have to face it Tito Boy, medyo matagal ‘yung competition this time, inabot siya ng four months.”
“Ako po, I came in here as an independent wala akong resources, I didn’t have much…financial…So darating talaga sa point na mauubos ka and I was almost there to quit but because of the people who supported me.”
“Magastos siya kasi ako I come back and forth to Bulacan, so siguro ‘yung transportation, dress, the makeup, everything, you have to provide it on your own,” Chelsea added.
According to Chelsea Manalo, the remaining money given to her is used to purchase food and clothes for her.
The beauty queen said, “Meron naman pong kakaunting naibibigay sa akin ‘yun po ‘yung pinagsasama-sama na lang namin just so that we can have a little food para lang maitawid ko ‘yung outfits ko. Dumating din sa point na I had to go and find a dress sa mga online selling.”
Chelsea is grateful to everyone who supported her in continuing her journey in the beauty pageant. Those who helped her included her glam team, the local government of Bulacan, private individuals, and her parents.
“Actually sila ‘yung nag-support sa akin when I almost gave up, they were there to support me. Sila ‘yung nagtiwala sa akin most importantly my mom and my dad, hindi nila ako iniwan,” Chelsea said.
