GSIS Unemployment Benefit

GSIS Survivorship Benefit

GSIS Retirement Benefit
Among the many GSIS benefits, the Retirement Benefit is the one that the members look forward to the most. The eligibility requirements depend in the retirement program you plan to choose:
RA 8291 or the GSIS Act of 1997
- must have rendered at least 15 years of service and must be at least 60 years old upon retirement
- must not be permanent total disability pensioner
Presidential Decree (PD) 1146
- must have rendered at least 15 years of service and must at least be 60 years old upon retirement
- last 3 years of service prior to retirement must be continuous and your employment status is permanent
RA 1616 or the Take All Benefit
- must have entered government service before June 1, 1977
- must have rendered at least 20 years of service regardless of age and employment status
- last 3 years of service prior to retirement must be continuous, expect in cases of death, disability, or abolition of position due to reorganization
RA 660 or the Magic 87
- must have entered government service before June 1, 1977
- appointment status must be permanent
- last 3 years of service prior to retirement must be continuous, except in cases of death, disability, or abolition of position due to reorganization
- must be at least 52 years old and meet the corresponding years of service (YOS) required for eligibility

GSIS Separation Benefit
In case of a member reaching the retirement age but not being able to meet all the requirements under any of the retirement programs of the GSIS, he/she may turn to the GSIS Separation Benefit offer. GSIS Funeral Benefit
In case of death of a member of the Government Service Insurance System or GSIS, the beneficiaries or anyone who paid for the burial expenses of the member may turn to the GSIS Funeral Benefit offer. The deceased member must have met the following qualifications:
- an active member of GSIS;
- a member who has been separated from the service but who is entitled to future separation or retirement benefit;
- an old age pensioner;
- a retiree who at the time of his retirement was of pensionable age under RA 8291 but who opted to retire under RA 1616; and
- a member who retired under RA 1616 prior to the effectivity of RA 8291 with at least 20 years of service, regardless of age
