Joem Bascon on not having social media accounts
JOEM BASCON – The actor recently revealed the reason why he doesn’t have social media accounts.
The actor currently stars in the Kapuso series “Asawa ng Asawa Ko” where he plays the role of Leon Lozano, the leader of rebel group KALASAG. Other cast members include Liezel Lopez, Rayver Cruz, and Jasmine Curtis-Smith.
Joem appeared on Monday’s episode of “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda” where he explained why he doesn’t have social media accounts. According to the actor, it’s for his mental health.
In an interview with Boy Abunda, Joem said that having social media accounts is like going to a battlefield and “driving sa EDSA” that a person should be prepared for.
The actor also admitted that the comments affected his mental health and him as a person. He added that he decided to delete his social media accounts and focus on his partner Meryll Soriano and their family instead.
“I decided to turn it off, to delete it, and then just focus on Meryll, focus on my baby, my family. It’s a choice and I’m happy right now,” the actor said in an interview.
During the “Fast Talk” segment of the show, Joem answered “kama” when he was asked what he’s good at aside from acting. But PEP.ph reported that he apologized off-cam and said, “Puwede naman na magaling akong mag-ayos ng kama?”

It can be recalled that Meryll revealed last January 2021 that she and Joem have a newborn child after posting a family photo on her social media account, confirming that they’re back together.
Last August, Meryll greeted Joem on his birthday through her post on her social media account. She even called him “my forever partner”.
