However, truth be told that although they don’t hate water as much as cats, some dogs can be challenging to handle when it comes to bathing. - Step 1 — Prepare your dog shampoo, a cup where you can dilute the shampoo, the conditioner if you are using it on your dog, at least two (2) clothes, and the whole area.
- Step 2 — Put your dog in the wash area or station. It will be best to invite your dog with a positive reinforcement like giving him/her a treat.
- Step 3 — Dilute the shampoo with water in a cup or small pail. Most shampoos for dogs are thicky concentrated thus it would be easier to spread them on your dog’s fur if it is diluted.
- Step 4 — Wet the fur of your furbaby using warm water. Wet the whole body except for the face.
- Step 5 — Pour the diluted shampoo on the fur of your dog. You can massage your dog and then rinse the shampoo off using clean water. You can shampoo your dog again.
- Step 6 — Make sure to rinse the shampoo off from your dog’s fur. Put some conditioner if you are using it in your dog and allow it to stay for a few minutes while massaging the fur of your dog.
- Step 7 — Rinse the conditioner thoroughly.
- Step 8 — Dip a clothe in water with soap. Clean the face of your dog using the wet clothe.
- Step 9 — Using another clothe, wet the clothe in clean water without a shampoo and use it in rinsing the shampoo off the face of your dog.
