Chito Miranda: “May time kasi na na-inggit ako kay Ely at kay Rico”
CHITO MIRANDA – The “Parokya ni Edgar” frontman revealed the reason why he stopped playing the guitar while singing at shows.
On Instagram, he posted a series of throwback photos where he can be seen playing the guitar while singing at the show. He also looked back at when he multitasked with singing the song and playing the guitar.
Chito revealed in the caption of his social media post that he looked up to fellow OPM singers Rico Blanco and Ely Buendia, who both play the guitar while singing.
According to him, there was a time when he was jealous of Rico and Ely because they both play the guitar while singing and he felt that they’re just so cool.
However, he said he soon realized that playing the guitar while singing wasn’t for him because he’s not as good as Rico and Ely when it comes to playing the guitar and because he realized that he enjoyed singing more without thinking about anything else but singing and jumping on stage.
“May time kasi na na-inggit ako kay Ely at kay Rico kasi pareho silang nagi-gitara habang kumakanta, feeling ko sobrang cool lang nila…but I soon realized that it wasn’t for me,” he said in the caption of his post.
In the comments section of his post, he urged the public to watch the music video of “Sing” – a song by Parokya ni Edgar and Rico Blanco – where both of them can be seen playing the guitar while singing the song.
Meanwhile, a musical featuring Parokya ni Edgar’s songs titled “Buruguduystunstugudunstuy: Ang Parokya ni Edgar Musical” is gearing up for an epic debut in 2024 at the Newport Performing Arts Theater.
“Buruguduystunstugudunstuy” is the debut album of the OPM band that was released in 1997.
