Miles Ocampo on winning the Best Supporting Actress award during the MMFF 2023 Gabi ng Parangal
MILES OCAMPO – The actress won the Best Supporting Actress award at the 49th Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) Gabi ng Parangal.
The actress emerged as the winner for her performance in MMFF movie “Family Of Two” and she was up against actresses Agot Isidro, Alessandra de Rossi, Gloria Diaz, and Janella Salvador.
Miles, who started working in the showbiz industry six years ago and will turn 27 next year, admitted in a speech that it’s her first time to receive an award and said, “Ganito po pala feeling ng mga artista.”
She went on to express her gratitude to the team of “Family of Two”, noting how she accepted the said project despite coming from her thyroid surgery.
“Sobrang pinag-isipan ko po kung tatanggapin ko ‘tong project na ‘to,” she said. “Alam ko po na kakatapos ko lang pong operahan kaya baka sabihin mukha po akong nanay ni Alden, but thank you so much to my director sa tiwala niyo po.”
The actress was in tears when she took the opportunity to thank her family.
Miles rose to fame as part of the cast of the drama series “Mga Anghel na Walang Langit” and later on being part of the comedy show “Goin’ Bulilit”. The actress earlier made raves online for her stint in “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo” as the young Marites.
Meanwhile, Star for All Seasons Vilma Santos won the Best Actress award as her MMFF film “When I Met You In Tokyo” won 4th Best Picture, Fernando Poe Jr. Memorial Award for Excellence, and Best Float.
In her speech, Vilma said they were not gunning for the acting awards when they made the movie.
