Slater Young Faces Backlash After Unveiling His Cebu Real Estate Project
SLATER YOUNG – Criticisms arise against Slater Young’s Cebu real estate project due to concerns about potential environmental hazards.
Civil engineer and online content creator Slater Young’s recent introduction of his new real estate project in Cebu has generated a mixed response from internet users. He presented the project, named “The Rise at Monterrazas,” on his YouTube channel on August 24th.
The development, situated on the mountainside within Monterrazas de Cebu in Guadalupe, Cebu City, draws inspiration from the Banaue Rice Terraces. Slater, known for his participation in “Pinoy Big Brother,” showcased the project using a scale model.
Slater Young said, “We pushed everything towards the mountain and just worked with the terrain. So each and every space was pushed towards the back and with that we were able to create this free-flowing design. But not only that, this whole structure is spread out across the mountain making it a whole lot safer and less ‘yung environmental impact.”
According to the 38-year-old celebrity, the concept of “low-density development” was influenced by the renowned Banaue natural landmark. He elaborated that the villa’s orientation is directed “eastward,” seamlessly integrated with the natural contours of the terrain.
“We got inspired by the Banaue Rice Terraces. So instead of a normal building which is typically straight up and down. We kind of worked with the terrain. We just pushed everything towards the terrain and just followed the flow of the mountain so this is the whole concept behind this one,” said Slater.
Before releasing his vlog, it can be inferred that the project commenced around December 2022. This assumption is based on Slater’s earlier posts, where he was seen in what seemed like a groundbreaking event at Monterrazas de Cebu, as shared on his Facebook page.
Nevertheless, Slater Young’s social media post drew criticism for potential environmental hazards. Some individuals highlighted that Cebu, the site of the development project, experienced significant destruction due to Typhoon Odette in December 2021.
