President Bongbong Marcos: “I’ll do what I do every year.”

BONGBONG MARCOS – President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. recently revealed his personal plans for the Holy Week this year.

On Friday, the President said in an interview in Mariveles, Bataan that he will go on a retreat for few days during the Holy Week and will also spend Easter Sunday with his family as well.

Ako simple lang, I’ll do what I do every year,” the President said. “I go [on a] retreat for few days and then I’ll spend Easter with my family.

The President was in Mariveles, Bataan on Friday, March 31, 2023, to attend the Bataan-Cavite Interlink Bridge (BCIB) Milestone Ceremony.

In a report on Manila Bulletin, President Marcos said in an interview with reporters in Bataan that the government is prepared for the coming Holy Week this year and also had to make additional preparations due to hot weather.

He also assured the public that everything was in place for the Holy Week despite the temperature rise.

We have been preparing already for a while, but nadagdagan lang yung ating preparasyon dahil biglang uminit,” the President said. “We have to make everybody– make sure that everybody’s comfortable that they can get to where they want as quickly as possible. Sa palagay ko naman nakahanda naman kami.

Earlier, Malacañang announced the suspension work in government offices starting 12:00 p.m. of April 5, 2023.

Signed by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin on March 31, 2023, Malacañang has issued Memorandum Circular No. 16, series of 2023, to allow government employees to properly observe Maundy Thursday (April 6) and Good Friday (April 7), which were declared regular holidays.

Government agencies whose functions involve delivering basic and health services, preparedness or response to disasters and calamities, and performing other vital services, however, shall continue with their operations and also render the necessary services.

The suspension of work in private companies and offices, according to the Memorandum, is “left to the sound discretion of their respective employers”.
