Barbie Forteza: “Hindi naman ako galing sa comfortable family”
BARBIE FORTEZA – The “Maria Clara at Ibarra” star recently spoke about her life before she entered the showbiz industry.
The actress appeared on the latest episode of Karen Davila’s vlog titled “BARBIE FORTEZA & DAD In Tears Sharing Her Journey To Stardom!”. In the said vlog, Karen had a sit-down interview with the Kapuso star and her father.
In an interview, Barbie admitted that she didn’t come from a well-off family as her father was a tricycle driver before. She also shared that they have a family business wherein they sell yema and pastillas.
The actress said that she pursued becoming an artist because of her pure passion for acting and not because of the social status of her family.
“To be completely honest, and I’m really thankful for my parents for this, dahil ginusto ko maging artista [pero] hindi nila sinabi na, ‘Anak, mag-artista ka kasi kailangan natin ng extra,’” Barbie said. “Never nila pinaramdam sa ‘min ni ate na kailangan namin tumulong sa kanila.“
