Yasmien Kurdi: “Sabi sa amin ng pedia na wag na lang muna kasi yung surge nung time na yun, medyo natatakot din kami”
YASMIEN KURDI – The actress recently spoke about her and her husband Rey Soldevilla’s plan to have a second child.
In an online interview on Kalurks with Boobay and Pepita Curtis, the actress admitted that their plan to have a 2nd child have been put on hold because of the coronavirus pandemic and because of their busy schedules.
She also admitted that she and her husband were about to try for a 2nd baby after Ayesha’s 7th birthday but were advised not to as the coronavirus pandemic has just started at the time.
It didn’t help that their work schedules started to get busier and busier over time that trying for a 2nd baby was out of the question. Yasmien’s daughter never asked for a baby brother or sister, anyway.
“Sabi sa amin ng pedia na wag na lang muna kasi yung surge nung time na yun, medyo natatakot din kami,” she said. “Though sa amin, yung bata, hindi rin naman humihingi ng kapatid. Parang okey naman siya, masaya naman siya mag isa.”
The actress shared that as an only child, she didn’t know how it feels to have siblings.

Yasmien also said that while she spoils her daughter from time to time, she also disciplines her if needed.
She added that her daughter is more afraid of her than her husband. However, the actress expresses the importance of communicating with her daughter and understanding how she feels.
As for her daughter using gadgets and social media, Yasmien admitted that it’s fine with her, especially since it’s now the new normal.
The actress cited her daughter’s online classes as an example where one of her projects was to do a TikTok video. She also said that she’s hands-on with the needs of her daughter and also assists her as much as she can with her assignments or projects.
