JAPAN PRIME MINISTER COVID-19 – Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida is now working remotely after testing positive for coronavirus.
The COVID-19 virus continues to exist in several countries across the globe. Recently, Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida tested positive for the virus which placed him in isolation. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, he exhibits mild symptoms and will possibly continue working through virtual take in meetings.

Fumio Kishida
Born on July 29, 1957 in Shibuya, Tokyo, Fumio Kishida is the son of a government official in the Trade and Industry, Ministry of Economy, and The Small and Medium Enterprise Agency director. Every summer, their family used to return to Hiroshima. Aside from his father, his grandfather has also served in the House of Representatives. He is the cousin of former Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Yoichi Mizayawa, too. He and former prime minister Kiichi Miyazawa are also relatives.
Political Career
Prior to entering the political career, Kishida has worked in the now-defunct Long-Term Credit Bank of Japan. His first entry to the political arena was as a secretary to a member of the House of Representatives. In 1993, he was elected to the House of Representatives representing Hiroshima.
From 2007 to 2008, he was the Minister of Okinawa affairs. He was part of the cabinet of the late former prime minister Shinzo Abe and served as the foreign minister. In September 2021, he became the leader of the Liberal Democratic Party.
Family
Japan Prime Minister Fumio Kishida is married to Yuko Kishida, a daughter of a real estate businessman. It was an arranged marriage in 1998 for the couple and their marriage is blessed with three (3) sons.
