KC Concepcion: “Grateful to be part of this Asian-American project”
KC CONCEPCION — On Wednesday morning, the actress took to social media to announce that she’s part of the new US film “Asian Persuasion”.
Sharing a screen-captured photo from Variety Magazine that showed her head shot alongside Filipino actors Paolo Montalban, Dante Basco, and Jax Bacani, the actress wrote in the caption that they had actually just wrapped “day 3 of filming”.
“Thank you for joining us on this new journey. Grateful to be part of this Asian-American project, with our amazing cast & crew,” KC wrote.
According to a report on Variety, the actress replaced Toni Gonzaga as the lead star of “Asian Persuasion”, the directorial debut of Jhette Tolentino, the three-time Tony Awards and Grammy Awards winner. Apl.de.Ap, Fe Delos Reyes, Yam Concepcion, Tony Labrusca, and Rex Navarrete are also in the cast.

Variety also reported that the said film features a “diverse, primarily Asian cast and seeks to elevate, inform and inspire the Asian narrative”.
The said film follows Mickey, a chef who has been trying to overcome tragedy while trying to establish a Michelin-rated Filipino restaurant. As life continues to be unkind, he comes up with a scheme involving online dating and getting remarried.
“Everything goes smoothly until Mickey’s plot backfires on him,” The Asian Persuasion writes on Instagram.
Prior to this, KC earlier dropped hints about starring in a movie on her Instagram account.
On her birthday a week ago, the actress shared a photo of herself being made up and said “being back on set for my birthday, doing what I’ve always loved, is a celebration in itself“.
