The son of Congressman Arnolfo Teves Jr. resigned as Negros Oriental board member.
KURT MATTHEW TEVES — The son of House Deputy Speaker and Negros Oriental Congressman Arnolfo Teves Jr. resigned as a board member of Negros Oriental.
This, as he apologized for beating up a security guard at BF Homes in Parañaque City.
In a press conference in Bayawan City on Wednesday, March 23, Kurt Matthew Teves said that he’s wrong to lay his hands on the security guard. He added that the said incident is “entirely on me, no one else”.
“What happened is already done. Whatever the exchange of words were, I was wrong to lay my hands on him… For that I offer my sincerest apologies, apologies to all of you here and to the other party concerned,” Kurt Matthew said.
Kurt Matthew is the incumbent chairman of Barangay Malabugas and also serves as an ex-officio member of the Negros Oriental Provincial Board being the elected president of Negros Oriental’s Association of Barangay Captains.

According to Kurt Matthew, he’s ready to face the charges that may be filed against him in court and that he decided to step down as a board member of the province.
“I must respectfully resign from my office as a public official while I face this problem and give time to reflect on my own person, as well,” Kurt Matthew noted.
Prior to this, Congressman Arnolfo Teves Jr. has broken his silence following his son’s mauling of a security guard. He believed that the said issue is “politically motivated”.
