Sen. Manny Pacquiao Assured He’s Not Backing Out from the Presidential Race
MANNY PACQUIAO – The PROMDI standard-bearer reacted to the blind item about a presidential candidate rumored to be him.
Senator Manny Pacquiao is one of the 10 presidential candidates that remain on the official ballot for the May 2022 Election. He is the standard-bearer of PROMDI and he runs alongside Representative Lito Atienza, the vice-presidential bet of the party.
Pacquiao is vocal about his pursuit to help more Filipinos considering that the national government has more budget and resources compared to his private funds. He has been helping the poor people even before he joined politics.
The PROMDI standard-bearer wants housing for the poor to be one of the things he will focus on if he wins president in the May 2022 Election. He also wants to help the businesses in the country to also boost the economy.
Furthermore, Sen. Manny Pacquiao wants the Philippines to be prepared for unforeseen circumstances including calamities. He wants the country to be prepared enough that there is no need to borrow funds when calamities happen.
However, Pacquiao is not faring well in surveys. He only got 8% out of the total in a survey conducted by Pulse Asia.
Meanwhile, based on a report on ABS-CBN News, Pacquiao is unfazed by the survey results citing that only 1,200 people out of the over 67 million population were asked about their presidential preference.
Furthermore, Sen. Manny Pacquiao reacted to the blind item about a presidential candidate that many speculated to be referring to him. According to the report, the blind item published by a media outlet claimed that one of the presidential bets is planning to back out from the race.
Pacquiao stressed that he is a fighter and he is not backing out. He raised a question citing that he did not back out from his boxing fights for himself so how much more for the country.
“”Kung hindi nga ako umatras para sa sarili ko, ano pa kaya ‘yung para sa bayan,” the boxer-turned-senator said.
