Globe at Home will migrate its broadband users to fiber technology in 2022.
GLOBE AT HOME — The local telco giant officially announced that the company will migrate its broadband users to fiber technology in 2022.
Globe noted that migration has jumped by more than 250% as of October, exceeding its 2021 target.
The company aimed to install at least 1.4 million FTTH (fiber-to-the-home) lines this year. Globe had been doing this migration from DSL (digital subscriber line) and LTE to fiber for free for over a year now.
Under Globe at Home’s fiber technology, users can enjoy a maximum speed of 1Gbps.
The company also said that this means that users will be able to enjoy super-fast internet speeds for seamless HD video calls during virtual classes or work meetings, or even lag-free gaming, through faster download and upload speeds as well as more family members to connect to the home internet.
