Former Sen. Bongbong Marcos Speaks on Sen. Bong Go’s Decision
BONGBONG MARCOS – The presidential aspirant and former Senator reacted to the decision of Sen. Bong Go to withdraw from the presidential race.
One of the popular candidates in the upcoming Elections 2022, Sen. Bong Go, withdrew his candidacy for president. He was the standard-bearer of the ruling party PDP-Laban Cusi wing.
Go, who is a longtime-aide of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte before he became a lawmaker, has the support of the 76-year-old President in the upcoming poll. The Chief Executive was even the one who convinced the Senator to run for president.
Go was initially set to run for vice president as the bet of PDP-Laban Cusi wing. However, he withdrew his candidacy upon knowing that presidential daughter and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte will be running in the same position.
Then, the slot of PDP-Laban Cusi wing for president was vacant and Pres. Duterte encouraged Sen. Go to be their party’s standard-bearer. However, a few days after he filed his candidacy for president, he announced that he will quit from the presidential race as he is really not ready for it.
