Vice President Leni Robredo on disqualification case against Bongbong Marcos: “Nanalo naman kami na walang ganyan”
LENI ROBREDO — The incumbent Vice President said that she didn’t need to file a disqualification case against former senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr for the upcoming presidential campaign next year since she won in 2016 without such measures.
Robredo was puzzled by insinuations that the opposition was behind Bongbong’s disqualification case, saying that they should have filed that way back in 2016 when they competed for the vice-presidency in the 2016 elections.
The Vice President was asked about the insinuations that her camp had something to do with the disqualification case against the former senator in a press conference in Negros Occidental last November 5.
According to her, it’s unnecessary to file a disqualification case against the former senator if the purpose was to remove him from the list of presidential candidates in the 2022 elections.
“Ako, it doesn’t make sense. Kung gusto namin siya ipa-disqualify dapat sana no’ng laban pa namin ng VP,” Robredo told reporters. “Saka kung ang purpose ng disqualification para maalis siya sa contest na ito, hindi naman kailangan. Naglaban na kami no’ng 2016, nanalo naman kami na walang ganyan.”

The Vice President declined to comment on the disqualification case against the former senator as she preferred to focus on pressing concerns such as the pandemic response.
Robredo, together with her running mate Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan, visited Negros Occidental for the signing of a memorandum enhancing the Office of the Vice President’s partnership with Teresita Lopez Jalandoni Provincial Hospital in Silay City.
She was also welcomed by her supporters through a stationary caravan from the airport and later met with sectoral representatives of various people’s organizations, support groups, and political parties.
