Chris Martin to BTS: “I have a lot of love and respect for you for that”.
“Coldplay” frontman Chris Martin had nothing but praises for South Korean pop group BTS, telling them that he had a lot of love and respect for the group.
In a special episode on YouTube’s “Released”, Martin interviewed BTS members Jin, RM, J-Hope, V, Jimin, Suga, and Jungkook ahead of the premiere of the group’s “Permission to Dance” music video featuring fans around the world.
“I feel that during the pandemic, you guys have been giving a lot of joy to a lot of people in a time where it’s been very difficult to do that. So I have a lot of love and respect for you for that,” Martin said.
The group released their first English single “Dynamite” last August 2020 in hopes of sending good vibes around the world.
Earlier this year, the group followed it up with “Butter” and then followed it up with “Permission to Dance”. GMA News Online reported that “Dynamite”, “Butter”, and “Permission to Dance” debuted in the Billboard Hot 100.
Also, the group launched the “Permission to Dance” Challenge on YouTube Shorts, urging people from all over the world to dance the choreography.

BTS member Jimin told Martin that the purpose of the said challenge was to give a positive message to people, but the group also felt comforted, thankful, and received positive energy while watching people doing the challenge.
“I send you all my love. Thank you for working so hard, I know how hard you work,” Martin said.
BTS officially released the compilation of “Permission to Dance” YouTube Shorts shortly after the interview with the “Coldplay” frontman. Aside from BTS fans, the video also featured covers by Elton John and other South Korean celebrities.
