BOQ deputy director Roberto Salvador Jr. said in an interview on Unang Balita that the system will ease the process of COVID-19-related requirements.

According to Salvador, all people going to the Philippines — overseas Filipino workers (OFWs), non-OFW, foreigners — were required to enter the One Health Pass in order to speed up the process at the airport.

Only diplomats, foreign spouses and children of Filipino citizens traveling with them, foreigners engaged in medical services, and others with humanitarian cases were allowed to enter the Philippines amidst the pandemic so far.

The Bureau of Immigration said last August that the government has allowed companies that wished to engage the services of foreigners who were still abroad to apply for work visas on their behalf.

According to Immigration Commissioner Jaime Morente, employers of those foreign workers must still apply for an “alien employment permit (AEP)” on their behalf with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).

The Bureau of Quarantine has earlier called on returning overseas Filipinos (ROFs) to register with One Health Pass online portal. According to the BOQ, travelers will fill out the corresponding form 3 days before travelling to the Philippines in order to generate a transaction number.

In addition, the BOQ said that the passenger will be required to fill out an electronic health declaration checklist a day before boarding the flight to the Philippines and will be given a QR code.

As for those who are not familiar with online logins needed for this, the airline staff will be of assistance,” Salvador said.
