According to Meralco FVP and chief commercial officer Ferdinand Geluz, Meralco continued to take into consideration the challenges its customers were facing amidst difficult times.

The power distributor also said in a statement that there will be no disconnection in Laguna from August 1 to 15 and in Metro Manila from August 6 to 20.

Meralco’s statement came after the national government placed Laguna under modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ) and Metro Manila under enhanced community quarantine (ECQ).

Also, Meralco assured that it will be “very considerate” for customers in areas under general community quarantine (GCQ).

According to Meralco, essential operations such as bill delivery services and meter reading will also continue even during the enhanced community quarantine in line with the order of the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC).

Customers, especially those with billing concerns, were also urged to reach out to Meralco via online platforms before heading to its business centers in order to avoid lining up.

Meralco BCs will be on skeleton workforce, for any inquiries and concerns on billing and payments as a precaution to the rising number of COVID-19 cases,” Meralco noted.

Moreover, Meralco said that business hours will be from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm from Monday to Friday, in compliance with the IATF guidelines, and 7:00 am to 12:00 pm on Saturdays.
