The Department of Health (DOH) announced that the first batch of Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine doses will arrive in the Philippines on Monday.
On Saturday, Health Secretary Francisco Duque III said that the Philippines was expecting around 193,000 Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine doses on Monday.
Duque said that the first batch of COVID-19 vaccines will be given to the “NCR Plus” – composed of Metro Manila, Cavite, Bulacan, Rizal, and Laguna – as well as Davao, Cebu, and other major cities that can handle the temperature requirements of the said vaccine.
He didn’t clarify, though, whether those were Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine doses from the WHO-led COVAX Facility expected this month.
