Globe Telecom claimed that almost 500,000 customers now on 5G devices.
Globe Telecom recently claimed that the company was leading the 5G race in the Philippines after almost 500,000 customers shifted to using 5G devices as of February 2021.
According to Globe Telecom, the company was the “5G leader” in the local telco industry amidst its aggressive network builds.
Globe Telecom had expanded the technology to 1,069 across the Philippines, with 5G coverage present in 848 locations in Rizal and Metro Manila.
In addition, Globe Telecom noted that a total of 221 areas in Visayas and Mindanao were also covered by the latest generation in wireless technology.

Earlier, Globe Telecom said that it would continue to widen its 5G reach across the Philippines this year.
According to Globe Telecom, 5G delivered higher bandwidth, faster speeds, and more stable internet connections compared to 4G.
“We see our customers consuming more data as their needs change especially with the pandemic. We want them to unlock the many possibilities and potential that 5G technology brings, and Globe is committed to giving them superior technology to create the quality of lives they want,” Globe Telecom VP for Postpaid and International Coco Domingo said.
Globe Telecom had also made its 5G service available abroad with the launch of 5G Roaming in Thailand through AIS.
Soon, the 5G roaming service would be rolled out in more key markets in Middle East, Asia, Europe, and North America.
