117K Pfizer COVID-19 vaccines under COVAX would arrive in the second or third week of February 2021, according to a WHO official.
On Monday, an official from the World Health Organization (WHO) said that 117,000 doses of Pfizer COVID-19 vaccines under the COVAX facility would arrive either in the second or third week of February 2021.
In a press conference, World Health Organization (WHO) country representative Rabindra Abeyasinghe said that the COVAX had promised to deliver approximately 117,000 Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine doses within the second or third week of February 2021.
GMA News Online reported that 5.5 to 9.2 million AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine doses were expected to arrive in the country either in late February or early March 2021.
However, Abeyasinghe said that AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine was still under evaluation for an emergency use listing (EUL) and the evaluation can be finished in 2-3 weeks.
“We are potentially looking at some quantity of those AstraZeneca vaccines also reaching the Philippines either late February or early March,” he said.
