Roque Gives Emphasis On Sinovac Priority, Says “Uubusin Ang Lahat Ng Health Workers”
SINOVAC PRIORITY – Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said “Uubusin Ang Lahat Ng Health Workers Muna Sa Pilipinas” as he talked about the Sinovac vaccine priority.
Recently, the government announced procuring 25 million doses of China’s more expensive and less effective Sinovac Vaccine. Meanwhile, LGU’s had already secured deals with better and cheaper vaccines.
However, the government had long expressed that it would prioritize vaccines coming from China. Furthermore, this coming February, around 50,000 doses of the vaccine is expected to arrive in the Philippines.
As such, Roque stated that these 50,000 vaccines would “all go to health workers”. He added that front liners in priority areas would be given the vaccine first as per the initial agreement.
Still, Roque noted that this decision still isn’t passed as a form of a resolution. Meanwhile, he asserted that the government would prioritize all health workers in the country before moving on to the next sector.
But, instead of feeling relief, netizens and frontliners on social media express unease.
“Uubusin” tagalog yan ewan ko na lang kung ano tlg ibig nyang sabihin dyan.. “, said one Netizen. Meanwhile, another commented:
“Mali yan. Dapat mauna goverment officials muna to boost the morale of the public be a good example ika nga. 50k na dose is equivalent to 25k na tao lang si sa inyo pa lang sa gobyerno kulang na kulang pa yan. Wag muna health workers goverment officials muna“
“As a health workers. I would gladly refuse. Unahin nyo na mga pulis at militar“
