Manila City government announced the cancellation of all Chinese New Year events.
The Manila City government announced the cancellation of all Chinese New Year events for the year 2021 because of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.
Under Executive Order No. 4, Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso on Friday said that the February 11-12 celebration would be an “easy medium of COVID-19 spread and transmission” if they were not canceled.
In a report on GMA Network’s “24 Oras”, Moreno said that as much as possible, there would be no activities that would urge assembly of people in an area or public place — including dragon dances and parade.
