Twitter had acquired Squad app, according to a report.
Twitter had acquired Squad app — a video chat and a screen-sharing social app — and it seemed that plans were already afoot by the company.
With this, Twitter would incorporate Squad’s group video chat feature as a new feature on Twitter. The Squad app allowed users to share their screens in both desktop and mobile settings in group video chat mode.
In a report on TechCrunch, the said app had been shut down by Twitter as the interfacing seemed to have started in earnest.
Ilya Brown from Twitter’s Product team shared the news in a tweet a few days back as Brown expressed excitement to be afforded the opportunity to share the information that the Squad team would be joining Twitter in order to provide new and exciting ways for users to interact, to express themselves, and to join in the public conversation.

Brown also said in a tweet that interactive audio and video chats were very important requirements in the future direction of the app and aligned with the type of conversations Twitter was hoping to introduce.
With hints provided by Ilya Brown on having a similar feature on Twitter very soon, it was expected that the Squad app would be out of service almost immediately.
Techcrunch also said that Squad CEO Esther Crawford would be leading a product in the conversations space.
