Huawei was set to launch Nova 8 series in China on December 23, 2020.
Huawei had recently took to Weibo as the company announced that it would launch its Nova 8 series in China on December 23, 2020.
This, as Huawei shared a photo on Weibo showing the launch date and a silhouette of Nova 8’s back panel.
Based on the poster, it showed that the smartphone was equipped with an oval-shaped camera housing.
However, the front design of these devices was yet to be officially confirmed by Huawei.
Based on recent reports obtained by Gizmochina, it can be said that Huawei would announce the Huawei Nova 8 and Huawei Nova 8 Pro through the company’s upcoming launch event.
While the Huawei Nova 8 SE debuted last November as a budget-friendly 5G smartphone from the company, the upcoming Huawei Nova 8 could be an upper mid-range smartphone and the Huawei Nova 8 Pro could be a flagship smartphone.

Ideally, the Nova 8 Pro should be powered by a Huawei Kirin flagship such as the Kirin 9000 or Kirin 9000E. It was already known that Huawei wasn’t able to use Huawei Kirin chipsets because of the ongoing US ban.
Hence, it’s unclear whether the Huawei Nova 8 and Huawei Nova 8 Pro would be equipped with Huawei Kirin or MediaTek Dimensity chipset.
As obtained by Gizmochina, a recent leak had revealed that the December 23 launch event would see the arrival of two other devices such as the Huawei Watch Fit and Huawei Enjoy 20 SE.
The official specs, price, and availability for these smartphones will reveal during the launch event.
