Roque Sings Karaoke While Hundreds Desperate For Rescue In Cagayan, Isabela
ROQUE KARAOKE – A video showing Harry Roque as he sings “Pare Ko” went viral on social media.
Last Friday, flooding in Cagayan and Isabela worsened by the minute. Floodwater began rising as people tried desperate to seek refuge on rooftops at night.
Meanwhile, Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque was happily singing the Eraserhead’s “Pare Ko” in Baguio. A netizen on Twitter, @camelski share the video with the caption:
THIS WAS TAKEN LAST NIGHT HERE IN BAGUIO. IT GOES TO SHOW THAT THE PEOPLE WHO HAVE THE POWER DOESNT REALLY CARE ABOUT THEIR FELLOWMEN
According to some netizens, “kalmado lang si Roque”. Aside from the video, Roque also posted a photo of him and his wife having dinner with the caption “simpleng hapunan kasama ang aking pinakamamahal”.
Obviously, this angered thousands of netizens. As such, Roque quickly deleted the photo on his official Facebook page.
Following the onslaught of criticism, Roque decided to defend himself regarding the karaoke video. He said he was just “unloading” following a hectic week.
Just when I thought I could unload a little after a hectic week/s, my unremarkable singing as a means of unloading goes public and I get a beating…
It goes to show that the people who have the power doesn’t really care about their fellowmen.
However, given the current situation of flood victims most found his actions inconsiderate, especially to those who have lost their lives waiting for their cries of help to be heard.
