Citing a report from the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), NTC said that Typhoon Ulysses was last spotted 250 kilometers east northeast of Virac, Catanduanes.
In line with this, the NTC told telcos that they were also ordered to preposition mobile cell sites in the typhoon-affected regions and these should be made ready for deployment anytime.
“You are reminded of your responsibility to submit reports to the Commission of the status of your respective network and facilities,” NTC said.
On Wednesday afternoon, PAGASA reported that 16 areas in Luzon remained under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 3 as the Typhoon “Ulysses” intensified further and continued to move closer towards Quezon-Aurora area.
Previously, the National Telecommunications Commission ordered telecommunications entities to prepare for Typhoon “Rolly”. Following the onslaught of Typhoon “Rolly”, the National Telecommunications Commission then issued a memorandum directing telcos to repair and restore its telecommunications services immediately.
