“James Bond” actor Sean Connery died at the age of 90.
Scottish actor Sean Connery, an actor who was best known for his portrayal of “James Bond”, died on Saturday in the Bahamas at the age of 90.
Sean’s acting career spanned 50 years and he won an Oscar in 1988 for his role in “The Untouchables”. His other movies included “Highlander”, “The Hunt for Red October”, “The Rock”, and “Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade”.
Jason Connery, the son of Sean Connery, told BBC News that his father — being the first actor to bring the “James Bond” role to the big screen and to appear in seven of the spy thrillers — “had many of his family who could be in the Bahamas around him” when he died in his sleep overnight in Nassau.
He added that they’re all working at “understanding this huge event as it only happened so recently” even though his father had been unwell for some time.
Jason also said that it was a sad day for all who knew and loved his father and a sad loss for all people around the world who enjoyed the wonderful gift that his father had as an actor.
