According to Tabije, they had to make sure that they had mechanisms in place just in case that the weather situation would escalate, adding that they need to be prepared for any eventuality.

During the said meeting, Tabije restated the salient points of a memorandum that was issued by Ilocos Norte Governor Matthew Marcos Manotoc, ordering the immediate implementation of activating all Barangay Disaster Risk Reduction Management Committees and enjoining all residents to actively participate in community flood mitigation activities.

The government can not do it alone; we need to make it sure that everyone involves in the preparation against the weather disturbance“, Tabije said.

Meanwhile, the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) had issued a memorandum directing all public telecommunication entities to immediately “accelerate the mobilization and transport” of their respective technical and service personnel and equipment to typhoon-affected areas.
