Robin Padilla was named as the Chairperson Of Communications Panel Of PH Army’s MSAB
Robin Padilla was named as the chairperson of the communications panel of the Multi-Sectoral Advisory Board (MSAB) of the Philippine Army.
This, as Col. Ramon Zagala, the spokesperson of the Philippine Army, on Wednesday said that they saw Robin as a “Muslim youth advocate” — someone who could influence the Muslim youth and veer them away from terrorism.
Robin was formally elected as the chairperson of the Multi-Sectoral Advisory Board’s Strategic Communication (StratCom) Committee last July 30.
In a phone interview, Zagala told ABS-CBN News that Robin joined the Philippine Army in trips to Basilan, Sulu, and Zamboanga City last 2019 wherein he reached out to young Muslims in order to explain that Islam was a “religion of peace”.
Zagala also said that retired Lt. Gen. Macairog Alberto — a former chief of the Philippine Army — nominated Robin to the Multi-Sectoral Advisory Board.
In addition, Zagala said that Robin’s position had a term of one year, although he could be re-elected as with his predecessor, Atty. Alexander Lacson, who served for four years.

Zagala said that the Multi-Sectoral Advisory Board was established in 2010 as part of the Philippine Army’s transformation roadmap, adding that it has three other committees, with members that came from different sectors in society — including businessmen, communicators, politicians, and lawyers, among others.
In addition, the Army said that the Multi-Sectoral Advisory Board served as the organization’s “accountability partner” in terms of its transformation strategy and shared responsibility in upholding transparency.
