This, as the Department of Health gave an update on the total number of COVID-19 cases in the Philippines as of 4:00 p.m. today, August 11, 2020.
According to DOH’s COVID-19 Case Bulletin #150 dated August 11, 2020, the Department of Health reported 2,987 new COVID-19 cases, which brought the total number of confirmed cases of coronavirus disease to 139,538.
In addition, the Department of Health stated that the newly-confirmed cases on Tuesday were reported based on the total tests done by 74 out of 99 current operational laboratories. Moreover, 1,374 out of 2,987 newly-reported cases occurred within the recent 14 days – from July 29 to August 11.

Aside from the number of confirmed cases, the Department of Health reported 280 new recoveries and 19 additional fatalities. This brought the total number of recoveries to 68,432 and total coronavirus deaths to 2,312.
In addition, the Department of Health reported 68,794 total active cases as stated in its COVID-19 Case Bulletin #150 dated August 11, 2020.
Moreover, the Department of Health identified the top five areas with the highest number of new coronavirus cases as of August 11 only: Metro Manila with 1,510 new cases, Cavite with 398 new cases, Laguna with 144 new cases, Iloilo with 135 new cases, and Cebu with 119 new cases.
