Travelers from PH will be required to present their “negative” COVID-19 test results before their scheduled flight going to China.
Starting August 20, travelers from the Philippines should be required to present their respective negative coronavirus test results before their scheduled flight going to China.
This, as Chinese authorities announced last mid-July that they would require “negative nucleic acid test results” for inbound passengers — including passengers from the Philippines.
The Chinese Embassy in Manila on Tuesday had released the guidelines, over a week before the new rule was implemented.
Foreign travelers from the Philippines — as well as Chinese travelers — should secure their negative COVID-19 test certificates within five days before their scheduled flight going to China.
The said certificate — as well as their health declaration form and a photocopied document of the front page of the passport — should be e-mailed to the Embassy or to the consulates.

The Embassy or the consulates would send back their certified health declaration form after they submitted their required documents. Passengers will present their certified health declaration form to airline authorities upon their check-in.
Moreover, the Embassy noted that it should take at least one working day for the verification of their documents by the Chinese Embassy or the Consulates. It also noted that a Chinese visa was still required in order for them to enter the Asian country.
However, the government of China temporarily suspended the entry of foreign visa holders since March 2020 in order to prevent the further spread of coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
Only those visitors who were coming to China for essential “economic”, “trade”, “scientific”, or “technological” activities — as well as those visitors who were coming to China for “emergency humanitarian needs” — were allowed to enter the country.
