130 accounts were affected by a massive hack, according to Twitter.
Twitter said that the massive hack had targeted 130 accounts as hackers were managed to reset the passwords of about 35% of those accounts.
This, as the said incident had compromised Twitter accounts of some of its most high-profile users.
In a blog post that was posted last Saturday, Twitter also said that for up to 8 of those accounts hackers downloaded the account’s data via “Your Twitter Data” tool – and none of those eight were “verified” accounts.
Also in its blog post, Twitter said that the company was “embarrassed”, “disappointed”, and “sorry” as they knew that they must work in order to regain their users’ trust and they’ll support all efforts in order to bring those offenders to justice.

As per the report, hackers sent out tweets from those accounts as they’re offering to send USD 2,000 for every USD 1,000 sent to an anonymous Bitcoin address. Moreover, it highlighted a “major flaw” with Twitter’s service millions of people have come to rely on as an essential communications tool.
