Google Doodles paid tribute to the late comedian on his 92nd birthday.
GOOGLE DOODLES – Google recently changed its doodle as the company paid tribute to the late comedian Rodolfo “Dolphy” Quizon on his 92nd birthday.
This, as Google reminded Filipino viewers about the gift of laughter Dolphy shared for decades. Dolphy, born on this day in 1928, passed away because of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease last July 10, 2012.
Dolphy grew up in Manila where he started his showbiz career as a dancer. His career spanned over 60 years, starring in over 100 movies and television series.
Moreover, Dolphy was recognized for his contribution in Film and Broadcast Arts, was awarded as Outstanding Manilan last 2010, and received the “Diwa ng Lahi” award last 2012.
Also known as the country’s “King of Comedy”, he was recognized with the Gawad CCP Para sa Sining – which was the highest honor that was given by the Culture Center of the Philippines (CCP) – at the main theater of the Tanghalang Nicanor Abelardo.
