The Department of Health (DOH) reported new cases of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in the Philippines as of today, July 28, 2020.
According to DOH’s COVID-19 Case Bulletin #136 dated July 28, 2020, the Department of Health reported 1,678 new COVID-19 cases, which brought the total number of confirmed cases of coronavirus disease to 83,673.
In addition, the Department of Health reported the newly-confirmed cases on Tuesday were reported based on the total tests done by 81 out of 91 current operational laboratories.

Aside from the number of confirmed cases, the Department of Health also reported 173 new recoveries and four additional fatalities. This brought the total number of recoveries to 26,617 and total coronavirus deaths to 1,947.
Moreover, the Department of Health reported 55,109 total active cases as stated in its COVID-19 Case Bulletin #136 dated July 28, 2020.
The Department of Health identified the top five areas with the highest number of new coronavirus cases as of July 28 only: Metro Manila with 698 new cases, Laguna with 218 new cases, Cebu with 100 new cases, Cavite with 87 new cases, and Davao del Sur with 33 new cases.
