Jason Mraz decided to donate all proceeds from his upcoming album to Black Lives Matter and Social Justice Organizations.

This, as Jason Mraz posted an announcement on Thursday (US time) on his Instagram account saying that he was proud to stand in solidarity with and be of service to Black Lives as he was about to launch his upcoming album “Look for the Good” — Jason’s album which consists of 12 tracks — on Friday (US time).

In his Instagram post, Jason said that he will be donating USD 250,000 that he received as an advance on his royalties to Black Lives Matter, RISE San Diego, Grassroots Law Project, San Diego Young Artists Music Academy, Equal Justice Initiative, and ISE San Diego, Grassroots Law Project, Center On Policy Initiatives before releasing his album.

Moreover, he said that he had witnessed how far his donations would go in order to make “measurable differences” in specific communities. He also said that his personal philanthropic efforts had never been motivated by a “press opportunity”, instead, he hoped that his contributions could inspire other creators and leaders in business “to do the same“.
