Harry Potter Theme Park will be reportedly coming to Tokyo in 2023
Harry Potter Theme Park will be reportedly coming to Tokyo in 2023 as the said park was set to replace Toshimaen in Nerima, Tokyo.
The Toshimaen in Tokyo was a 94-year-old amusement park owned by Seibu Railway Co. and was set to close on August 31.
In a report on Kyodo News, Seibu Railway Co., the owner of the amusement park, on Friday said that Toshimaen will be closed at the end of August 2020, adding that part of the said site will be utilized for a Harry Potter inspired theme park.
Seibu Railway Co. officially signed a deal to sell a large part of its 22-hectare site to the metropolitan government of Tokyo in Japan which planned to build a part that would also be utilized as an emergency shelter space in the event of a disaster.
As per the report, Seibu Railway Co. will lease part of its land to Itochu Corp. and to Warner Bros. Entertainment Inc.
Yuriko Koike, the governor of Tokyo in Japan, welcomed the prospect of the said theme park which will be the world’s “second such facility” following the first theme park in London.
Warner Bros. Entertainment Inc. will run the Harry Potter theme park in Tokyo.
