Grab officially launched GrabBayanihan for frontliners.
Grab officially launched its latest initiative for frontliners, the GrabBayanihan, which aimed to transport a healthcare worker to and from medical facilities and registered hospitals.
This, as Brian Cu, the President of Grab Philippines, said that the company had been working on ways in order to support those who were working on the frontlines — especially to the healthcare workers who had been “central in this fight” against the COVID-19 pandemic — since the start of the fight against the coronavirus disease 2019.
The company would have 400 volunteer drivers under its pilot run. Every volunteer driver would ferry a healthcare worker to and from medical facilities and registered hospitals one at a time and the service will be available from 5:00 in the morning until 10:00 in the evening in compliance with the national government’s mandated curfew hours.
In addition, every GrabBayanihan car would have a non-permeable acetate barrier in order to separate the driver from the passenger and will be required to undergo daily deep disinfection at its sanitation hubs.
On top of its undergoing hygiene and infection prevention training, GrabBayanihan drivers will be provided with free disinfectants, free face masks, fully-subsidized vehicle disinfection, one prepaid HMO health card, life insurance, monthly MedPadala allowance, monthly hospital assistance, and unlimited consultation in Family Doc clinics. Moreover, drivers were also guaranteed eight hours’ worth of earnings per day along with a reduced commission from the company in order to allow them to earn more.
