DOH Reports 289 New Recoveries, 16 New COVID-19 Deaths As Of June 12, 2020

DOH reported 289 new recoveries and 16 new coronavirus deaths as of 4:00 p.m. of June 12.

The Department of Health (DOH) on Friday reported 289 additional recoveries and 16 new fatalities due to COVID-19 as of 4:00 p.m. of June 12.

This brought the total number of recoveries to 5,454 and total fatalities to 1,052.

Aside from reporting new recoveries and fatalities, the Department of Health reported that the total number of confirmed cases of coronavirus disease to 24,787 as of 4:00 p.m. of June 12, 2020.

This, as the Department of Health reported 615 new COVID-19 cases wherein 336 were classified as “fresh” cases and the remaining 279 were classified as “late” cases.

For “fresh” cases, 97 COVID-19 patients were from Metro Manila, 92 were from Central Visayas, and the remaining 147 came from different areas in the Philippines. On the other hand, for the “late” cases, 84 COVID-19 patients were from Metro Manila, 20 were from Central Visayas, 10 repatriates, and the remaining 165 were from different areas in the Philippines.

According to the Department of Health, the fresh cases recorded on Friday were based on its test results released to patients within the last three days, while the late cases recorded were based on the test results released to patients four days ago or more.

Moreover, the Department of Health also reported 17,974 total active cases as of June 11, 2020, wherein 592 patients were asymptomatic, 17,292 patients were in mild condition, 73 patients were in severe condition, and 17 patients were in critical condition.
