DICT was working with CHED, DepEd, and TESDA in order to train and upgrade the teachers’ skills in preparation for blended learning.
The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) was currently working with the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), the Department of Education (DepEd), and the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) in order to train and upgrade the teachers’ skills in preparation for blended learning.
This, as Adrian Echaus, the spokesperson of the Department of Information and Communications Technology, said that the agency was currently in coordination with other government agencies in order to train and upgrade the teachers’ skills in preparation for blended learning for the academic year 2020-2021.
During the Laging Handa public briefing, Adrian Echaus on Thursday said that this would help prepare teachers for their transition to the new normal in the education center, adding that the agency was currently having a training via online learning management system and video conferencing platforms, as well as via using online education resources.
Echaus also said that teachers can access the webinars via Facebook page of the Department of Information and Communications Technology for free.
DICT’s move came after the Department of Education said that face-to-face classes will not be held until the antiviral drug or vaccine for the coronavirus disease was available in the Philippines in compliance with President Rodrigo Duterte’s remarks last month.
Meanwhile, Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said that traditional face-to-face classes wouldn’t resume as long as community quarantines meant to fight the spread of COVID-19.
