Coronavirus cases in the Philippines already reached over 32,000, according to DOH.
The Department of Health (DOH) on Wednesday reported that the total number of confirmed cases of coronavirus disease in the Philippines already reached over 32,000.
This, as the Department of Health reported 470 new COVID-19 cases wherein 357 were classified as “fresh” cases and the remaining 113 were classified as “late” cases, bringing the total number of confirmed cases of coronavirus disease to 32,295 as of 4:00 p.m. of June 24, 2020.
Aside from the number of confirmed cases, the Department of Health also reported 214 additional recoveries and 18 new fatalities due to COVID-19. This brought the total number of recoveries to 8,656 and total fatalities to 1,204.
For “fresh” cases, 159 COVID-19 patients were from Metro Manila, 141 were from Central Visayas, and the remaining 57 came from different areas in the Philippines. On the other hand, for the “late” cases, 66 COVID-19 patients were from Metro Manila, four were from Central Visayas, and the remaining 43 were from different areas in the Philippines.
According to the Department of Health, the fresh cases recorded on Wednesday were based on its test results released to patients within the last three days, while the late cases recorded were based on the test results released to patients four days ago or more.
