Coronavirus cases in the Philippines already reached over 30,000, according to DOH.
The Department of Health (DOH) on Sunday reported that the total number of confirmed cases of coronavirus disease in the Philippines already reached over 30,000.
This, as the Department of Health reported 653 new COVID-19 cases wherein 415 were classified as “fresh” cases and the remaining 238 were classified as “late” cases, bringing the total number of confirmed cases of coronavirus disease to 30,052 as of 4:00 p.m. of June 21, 2020.
Aside from the number of confirmed cases, the Department of Health also reported 243 additional recoveries and 19 new fatalities due to COVID-19. This brought the total number of recoveries to 7,893 and total fatalities to 1,169.
For “fresh” cases, 219 COVID-19 patients were from Metro Manila, 89 were from Central Visayas, and the remaining 107 came from different areas in the Philippines. On the other hand, for the “late” cases, 32 COVID-19 patients were from Metro Manila, 177 were from Central Visayas, and the remaining 29 were from different areas in the Philippines.
According to the Department of Health, the fresh cases recorded on Sunday were based on its test results released to patients within the last three days, while the late cases recorded were based on the test results released to patients four days ago or more.
Moreover, the Department of Health also reported 20,600 total active cases as of June 20, 2020, wherein 550 patients were asymptomatic, 19,963 patients were in mild condition, 69 patients were in severe condition, and 18 patients were in critical condition.
