Sonny Parsons, Hagibis Member, Died At The Age Of 61
Sonny Parsons, one of the members of the OPM novelty macho group Hagibis, on Sunday died due to suspected heart attack. He was 61 years old.
This, as Jeff Parsons, Sonny Parsons’s son, confirmed the tragic news on Sunday about his father.
In an interview with ABS-CBN News, Jeff Parsons said that the cause of his father’s death was due to suspected heart attack between 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in Tayabas, Quezon, while on his charity drive together with the Law Enforcers Riders Association of the Philippines (LERAP).
Jeff also said that the family has yet to have the complete details about the said incident, adding that the family has yet to finalize Sonny’s burial arrangement following Muslim tradition. He also said that his father was a datu and the family would “see how to carry out his wish to be cremated”.
About Sonny Parsons
Sonny Parsons, a Filipino singer-actor, a former politician, and a member of Hagibis, was born in Marikina on June 13, 1958. Aside from being a member of Hagibis, Sonny transformed himself as an action lead star in the ’90s and became a Marikina City Councilor in the late ’90s.
Hagibis, an OPM novelty macho group, was known for its classic hits “Katawan“, “Lalaki“, “Babae“, and “Legs“. The group’s last performance was at the Philippine Arena concert of Imelda Papin.
Sonny’s last appearance was on ABS-CBN’s action-drama television series “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano” in 2017.
