POGOs and its service providers must pay their tax dues before resuming its business activities during the ECQ, according to BIR.
The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) said that the Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGOs) and its service providers must pay their tax dues before continuing its business activities during the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ).
This, as the BIR issued Revenue Memorandum Circular No. 46-2020 dated May 7, 2020, circularizing the guidelines and requirements for POGO licensees and service providers for the processing of their application for tax clearance in connection to the continuation of their operations.
Inside the Annex A of the Revenue Memorandum Circular No. 46-2020 was the list of guidelines and requirements set by the BIR for licensees and service providers of the Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators for the processing of their application for tax clearance in connection to the continuation of their operations.
The guidelines on the application of tax clearance for POGO licensees and service providers were as follows:
- POGO licensees and service providers must submit an application letter for the issuance of tax clearance and all required documents to the BIR POGO Task Force via e-mail: [email protected]
- Inside the application letter, POGO licensees and service providers must indicate the following: company name, Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN), business address/es, authorized representative and his/her contact details, and monthly regulatory fees paid to PAGCOR in prior years
- POGO licensees and service providers must ensure that they completed their documentary requirements before submitting to the BIR POGO Task Force via e-mail.
