Rumiko Takahashi, the creator of the Inuyasha series, will be joining the new anime project as the new Inuyasha sequel was currently in the works.
This, as Viz Media reported the announcement on the new Inuyasha series, revealing the official title as well as the storyline on its website.
About The Official Title Of The New Inuyasha Sequel
Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon was the working title of the new Inuyasha sequel. This anime sequel will be a “story transcending time” as the new characters present in the series were involved in the same kind of strange “portal shenanigans” that Kagome found herself stuck in with the original Inuyasha series.
About Rumiko Takahashi, Sunrise Inc., and Viz Media
While the official title of the upcoming Inuyasha series was publicly revealed, a lot of anime fans asking about Rumiko Takahashi’s whereabouts. As per the report, Inuyasha series creator Rumiko Takahashi will be joining the upcoming anime sequel, saying in a press release that the three heroines — Kagome, Inuyasha, and Sesshomaru — were “beautifully designed” and he was looking forward to their adventures.
Sunrise Inc., the studio behind the production of the first anime adaptation way back in the early 2000s, will be producing the sequel as well.
Meanwhile, Viz Media announced that the company acquired the official license of the upcoming series for its English language “digital streaming, EST, and home video releases.” Brad Woods, the CMO of Viz Media, said that they’re excited for fans to “revisit this magical world” made by the series creator Rumiko Takahashi.
Release Date For Upcoming Sequel
The upcoming sequel — Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon — was scheduled to release in Japan in Fall 2020.
